Parody on an English traditional counting rhyme (published 1805) by Anne Sassen
Buckle my shoe.
Neat and clean;
Ready to learn.
Shut the door.
Go slow, now-
No teacher power!
School is good; makes me clever,
-Not the way for our endeavour!
Pick up sticks
Bad to find.
Use a bag,
To earth be kind.
Take a plate!
The feeding scheme does not wait,
Here is breakfast-it looks great!
Where’s your pen?
Teacher keeps these in store,
So I do my work for sure.
All we need is time on task,
Teacher and learners in a print-rich class.
With order, DBE books, routine and discipline,
Everything here will be just fine.
