The Winning Wave
The winning wave of GPLMS has taken Gauteng by storm
With professionals giving youngsters the skills,
Of how to overcome the language forlorn.
Getting the wheels of the program rolling
Meant Coaches had to know their story
From implementation of methodologies
To embracing all teachers, learners and other psychologies
The winning wave has rolled afar,
Supporting teachers by means of a DVD extravaganza!!
Indicating the importance of classroom management
And step by step guides of each language component.
Teachers’ positive attitude towards CAPS,
Showed that they are the true carriers of hope
And should not be mistaken for brats!!
Enhancing and strengthening our education system
CAPS has changed the face of what was seen as broken
The winning wave has made the difference
Making learning fun and teaching easy
Taking ANA results to new heights
Causing Gauteng schools to be more pleasing.
Ode To The GPLMS Coach
As the sun rises in the smoggy morning of GP,
Armed with your thick files and heavy LPs
You battle the traffic with dogged determination
Mind firmly fixed on the day’s destination.
Putting aside that stubborn sneaky feeling in your head
That your spouse and kids still needed help for the day ahead.
For now you have other children and adults to think about,
Hundreds upon hundreds of wide eyed eager learners,
Whose hopes, aspirations and ambitions
On your humble shoulders lie.
On your work and efforts depend,
Scores of teachers in Atteridgeville, Temba and Sedibeng,
All the way to Carletonville, Soweto and Sebokeng.
Educators whose work had now come to resemble
A weak fire on wet wood struggling to burn.
But now there comes a fuel to rekindle and reignite that fire.
A blazing flame it comes from the hands of Barbara Creecy
In the form of you the GPLMS coach!
Like the bright morning star it signals the hope of a new dawn.
You know it, Coach, you feel it!
You dare not fail the children of Gauteng.
You will open those doors, unlock them indeed,
Break them down if need be.
Those doors of learning,
Promised so long ago by the Freedom Charter,
They will be opened by you, the GPLMS coach!
(Dedicated to all the hard working GPLMS Coaches in Gauteng)Back to Blog
