Class Act has been tasked to develop scripted Lesson Plans and supporting materials for Grades 1-3 in isiXhosa, Sepedi, Setswana, Xitsonga and Tshivenda home languages for Terms 3 and 4 of 2015. In addition, Class Act will develop and conduct training workshops for relevant teachers, heads of department and district officials in the selected districts within the NECT project.
Should this trial prove successful, then Foundation Phase Learning Programmes will be rolled out to all schools in selected districts together with a more extensive training programme in 2016.
Term 3 lesson plans were successfully developed and distributed
Term 3 training workshops took place in the Mount Frere and Libode districts in the Eastern Cape, Vhembe and Waterberg districts in Limpopo, Bojanala district in the North West Province, and Bohlabela district in Mpumalanga
The learning programme and training were well received at all levels and teachers are currently implementing the Term 3 programme
